Earth Hour 2009 - Sharing My Experience In Putrajaya

Posted on March 28th, 2009 in Uncategorized by adiputra

When the clock struck 8.30pm.. I was at Alamanda when I received several SMS wishing me Happy Earth Hour. It was bright in Alamanda. I guess shopping centre is not participating but I was happy when I saw Roti Boy shut off their lights..

Leaving Alamanda with my family, My sister started to ask about earth hour which I explained in length. Then I drove over around Putrajaya. I turned the radio but nothing was played. I guess they supported earth hour.

To my expectation, The surrounding was dark. I couldn’t locate Masjid Putra and JPM. All government buildings including my office (The Ministry of Finance) shut off their lights. My sister was jumping excitedly to see the Malaysians were supporting this campaign. It was a great experience to witness Putrajaya covered with peace and serenity in the dark.

Arriving home in Precint 11, I noticed many people outside from their home. Pakcik, makcik, with little children running around, some forming circles in the middle of the road with candles in the centre… Their home all went dark. I smiled while reaching my house.

My family did the same too. Upon arriving home, we shut off all lights and electrical appliances. I lit a candle and with my sister and my cats, we sat in the middle of the street gazing upon the stars at night. Little children came by to play with our cats too. It was great to see neighbors outside supporting Earth Hour.

The clock struck 9.30 and lights are lit. It was the end of Earth Hour in Malaysia. A great experience for me. I honestly did not expect that many Malaysians in Putrajaya involve in this campaign but to my surprise, they did support. Thank you Putrajaya!

And thank you Malaysians for choosing earth! Together we protect earth for our future generations. I hope that all off you had a great experience during Earth Hour.

Pengalaman Hujan Batu Di Putrajaya

Posted on March 25th, 2009 in Uncategorized by adiputra

Sesape yg dok putrajaya share la experience beb. susah kat malaysia nak experience ujan batu…. Aku tadi baru balik kursus kewangan kat sepang, sampai je umah, tiba2 gelap, guruh berdentum.. ujan turun dan ais sebesar kacang turun dengan banyak nyer.. warna putih mcm ais dlm teh o ais.. huhu hujan batu la tu.

Atap rumah dengan cermin2 kaca keliling rumah macam kene tembak machine gun. Aku dah risau cermin pecah.. aku tinggal berdua dgn adik pompuan aku, jadi cuak gile sebab ingatkan atap tingkat dua da nak roboh dengan cermin2 pecah… kami lari ke bawah. tiba2 kereta aku pulak bunyik alarm. kene timpa ais2 batu.. lari punya lari sebab nak menyorok dari petir ditambah lagi dengan bunyi machine gun, akhirnya ujan reda..

huhu, ini pengalaman ketiga utk ujan batu aku rasai.. Dulu 1st time rasa time dekat M’sia gak tapi tak ingat kat mane.. batu kecik2 jek masa ribut time tu…Second time rasa time aku duduk Pittsburgh,USA. Time tu ada tornado yg menghancurkan rumah2 sekeliling kami dlm jarak 20 kilo dari kawasan aku.. Bila ada tornado, ada ujan batu..ujan tu batu besar mcm bola golf sampai pecah cermin2 kete jatuh area rumah kami.. Mujur tornado tu tak lalu kat umah kami.. sedih sebab rumah cikgu skolah aku time tu hancur sampai ke tanah kene sedut tornado…

tu la sedikit sebanyak experience arini… ape2 pun tu sume kuasa Allah.. Kita amek iktibar.. kata orang ujan emas di negeri orang, ujan batu di negeri sendiri.. lebih baik la kat negeri orang sebab dpt mas.. hehe..
